Classrooms for a London primary school (video)

This video tells the story of the classrooms built by Danzer – a modular construction company – for Charles Dickens primary school in London. It features head teacher Cassie Smith, LB Southwark architect Jeremy Peakin, and Dan Holloway of Danzer group. They talk about the background to the build, why LB Southwark chose Danzer to deliver it, the design, manufacture and installation process, and how the classrooms are working in practice.

We were commissioned to produce this video by Danzer for their website. Our aim was to introduce potential clients to Danzer and showcase Danzer’s work in an engaging way. We proposed unscripted interviews with clients and Danzer personnel, so as to give a natural and authentic account of the build from the different perspectives of those involved. We interviewed Dan Holloway (Danzer) at his home in Blackheath, and visited the school to shoot footage of the classrooms and talk to the head teacher and architect. Their interviews serve as powerful testimonials.

We provided the edited video to Danzer for their digital marketing providers Imoso to add the titles and wrapper, so as to ensure brand continuity.

Introducing Blackpool Creative Roots (audio slideshow)

This audio slideshow introduces Blackpool Creative Roots: a project to engage residents of the Mereside Estate with the arts and the open and public spaces on the estate. It features photographs from a series of creative workshops run by artists from the Avant-Gardening collective during Summer 2014. We hear from locals and artists about what they would like to see happen on the estate.

We produced this audio-slideshow to serve as a trailer for Creative Roots and for Avant-Gardening’s work more generally. It complements the September 2014 podcast, which provides a fuller introduction to the project and account of the summer workshops. It uses excerpts from that podcast, paired with photographs by Jack Boniface and Rosie Oliver (Tickertape Productions).

Creative Roots Blackpool is led by Paul Green of Avant-Gardening. The project has been commissioned by LeftCoast, one of 21 Creative People and Places programmes supported by Arts Council England. For more information about Creative Roots visit creativeroots.co. For more information about LeftCoast visit leftcoast.org.uk.

Spoken portrait for a retiring Chairman

This four minute clip contains extracts from the Spoken Portrait we produced for the London Sinfonietta, as a gift for their retiring Chair, founder of the Groucho Club Tony Mackintosh. The full 30 minute piece features past and present members of the Council, staff and players. Their recollections span key moments in the thirteen years that Tony was Chair and pay tribute to his huge contribution to the achievements of the London Sinfonietta.

We worked closely with the Chief Executive of the London Sinfonietta to map out key dates and events during Tony’s time as Chair, and identify suitable people to speak. The interviews were held at people’s homes and offices, and in one case in the auditorium of the Royal Festival Hall.

We added short excerpts from music performed by the London Sinfonietta with their kind permission. The pieces featured here are from Louis Andriessen’s Very Sharp Trumpet Sonata and Oliver Knussen’s Two Organa, Op. 27 (1994).
